As we head out to Long Island this weekend a funny memory came to mind. My sister and I had gone for a walk at the beach club where we've summered since we were children. We were randomly collecting rocks and I said that the rocks we choose are a reflection of who we are.
Mine were craggy, textured & multi-colored. My sister's rocks were smooth, clear in color and soft in color.
On our return, we asked our father to tell us what he saw if the rocks we chose reflected our personalities. He asked us to place the rocks on the table. My sister took each rock and gently placed the rocks on the table in a line. I let my rocks tumble to the table. He told my sister that she is organized, neat, calm, quiet yet every once in a while you surprise all of us with a sharp quip! To me he said I was outgoing, spontaneous, chaotic somtimes, talkative, gregarious. He was right on target with both of us.

some of my favorite flower photos

I love taking close-ups of flowers. I have been using my digital camera recently for these photos as there is an option to do so. I have just begun printing them on cardstock and they have turned out well. I have also blown up several images onto (4) 8x10 sheets of paper and made a collage of them.
Here are my recent favorites:

summer cleaning

It's 10:49am on a beautiful cool sunny day and I am psyching myself to organize all my magazine clippings into binders. It's been a long mental process to get to this day. A few days agao I cleared my room of all papers, shoes books and magazines that have been cluttering my floor for many months. My sister and I received a 30"high corner hutch from our relatives but the top of the hutch is not sturdy enough to support our tv so I managed to put it in the corner of my room. It looks great and anchors my laptop in my room. I opened my safety guard from one of my windows so that I receive more light into my room.
I am starting a new job soon and must organize my personal environment in order for me to begin this new chapter in my life.
